The incense capital of Nghe An is busy preparing for Tet orders
At the end of the year, incense production facilities in Quy Chau district are rushing to "race" against time to meet the number of orders to supply the Lunar New Year market.
Coming to the incense village of Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district at the end of the year, the whole village is filled with the fragrant scent of incense. A busy, hurried atmosphere of preparing Tet goods permeates every home.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen - owner of an incense production facility in Hanh Tien village, Chau Hanh commune, said that the facility has 12 workers who have been making incense continuously since October, making 5,000 incense sticks per day. Currently, over 80,000 incense sticks have been exported to traders from all over.

Next door is Mr. Luong Van Hoanh's household, this Tet holiday, 15 workers are working at full "capacity" rolling incense, packing boxes... to meet the demand of customers. Mr. Hoanh added: For Tet alone, my facility is expected to produce over 1,000 boxes of incense, with revenue of over 800 million VND.
In addition to traditional products such as incense sticks, the craft village also produces new products such as incense cones, incense coils, etc.

To produce good quality incense products, people must first prepare and select ingredients very carefully, mixing them from natural ingredients and spices such as incense roots, cinnamon bark, star anise, cardamom, cloves, agarwood, bagasse, etc. Thanks to that, incense with its characteristic aroma is increasingly popular in markets everywhere every time Tet comes and Spring comes..
Quy Chau incense is made entirely by hand, the workforce is mainly women, on average, an incense maker is paid 300,000 - 350,000 VND/day..

Mr. Sam Anh Dung - Chairman of Chau Hanh Commune People's Committee said: Hanh Tien craft village has about 20 households working in the incense making industry, creating jobs for over 200 workers, with annual revenue from the incense making industry reaching 5-6 billion VND. However, currently, the commune only has 4 hectares of incense roots, while about 20 hectares are needed to meet production needs..

Currently, Quy Chau has 3 incense-producing villages recognized as craft villages. The annual output reaches over 90 million incense sticks, with revenue reaching over 20 billion VND. There are 220 households participating in production, creating stable jobs for over 600 local workers, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction for local people.

To develop the incense industry, Quy Chau district encourages large-scale incense producers to invest in more machinery to reduce production steps and diversify product designs. At the same time, expand the area of raw incense root trees to meet production needs.
