Confessed to murdering lover, suspect sat on sidewalk waiting for police to arrest him
Putting his girlfriend's body on the bed, Giang cleaned up the blood stains in the house and panicked and went out into the street at midnight.
On July 30, Ha Tinh Provincial Police said that suspect Le Dang Giang (21 years old, residing in Hoa Hai commune, Huong Khe district) during his detention continuously expressed remorse for killing his girlfriend in a fit of anger early yesterday morning. According to authorities, Giang was in a relationship with Vo Thi Hong Nhung (19 years old), renting rooms across from each other. On July 27, the two had a conflict that was not resolved.
At 2am on July 29, during an argument, Giang stabbed his girlfriend to death. After wiping away the blood at the scene, he placed the victim on the bed, locked the door and fled.
Walking 800 meters from home, Giang sat on the sidewalk and called his mother to tell her what had happened, but she thought he was joking. A few dozen minutes later, he called the 113 Police hotline (Ha Tinh Provincial Police).
"The person on the other end of the line spoke in a trembling voice, saying: I killed my lover, please report to me to confess... I explained the incident to the leader and then went to meet Giang on Nguyen Cong Tru street," said an investigator.
When they met, the investigator noticed that Giang was mentally unstable and panicked. He could not remember the way to his room and had to sit still for a long time to calm down. The crime scene investigation was carried out immediately and was completed at 5am.

Ms. Nhung died from 4 wounds to her arms and chest. Police recovered a bloody knife with a bent tip and a shirt that wiped away the traces in the rented room.
Local authorities said Giang is a freelance worker with no criminal record.
