Deputy Minister of Education: Nghe An fully and methodically prepares for the National High School Exam
(Baonghean) - At this time, preparations for the National High School Exam are being urgently prepared and receiving attention from the whole society.
This is also an exam with many innovations to bring a truly safe, serious and successful exam season. During a working trip to Nghe An province, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Nghia took the time to talk with Nghe An Newspaper about the 2019 National High School Exam.
- Dear Deputy Minister, after inspecting the exam work at exam cluster 28 - Nghe An, what is your comment on Nghe An's preparation work?
- Nghe An is truly a miniature Vietnam and is one of the four provinces with the highest number of candidates in the country. This also shows that, compared to other provinces and cities, preparing for the exam in Nghe An is much more difficult, especially in remote areas.

Although there are specific characteristics, through inspection we see that Nghe An has made quite complete and systematic preparations. That is, it has issued documents from directing the completion of the program, reviewing for schools to issuing decisions to establish the provincial exam steering committee, and decisions to conduct exams in localities.
In particular, the districts have also established steering committees and provided support for local examination sites such as: supporting disadvantaged students, students under policies on transportation, accommodation, etc. Preparations for examination paper printing sites are also thoughtful and we are quite assured about the facilities and camera system. In particular, communication work has been promoted so that all people understand the examination and comply with the regulations of this examination.
I also just went to the province's Ethnic Minority High School 2, talked to the students and was really happy to see that they were very confident, both studying for the exam and supporting each other. That also shows that we have done quite well in the review phase.

- This year's National High School Exam has received special attention from the public, especially regarding its seriousness and safety. According to the Deputy Minister, will the adjustments in the organization this year really ensure high safety for the exam?
- This year, the Ministry has made some adjustments compared to last year, such as local universities will not administer the exams locally, the multiple-choice test marking will be undertaken by universities, and the printing and copying of exam papers and marking will be organized independently and monitored by a camera system. We believe that these technical innovations will increase the objectivity and seriousness of the exam.
In Nghe An, we found a new point that we are really confident in, which is renting a large location to organize the exam marking and make the score concentrated. That is to ensure the seriousness of the exam marking process.

- Although we have made technical adjustments. But, clearly, the most important factor is still people. Before the National High School Exam, what message does the Deputy Minister want to send to the staff, supervisors, and examiners working in the exam supervision and grading?
- With many years of experience in organizing exams, Nghe An has been very careful in preparing for the exam and the province has also paid attention to the financial and material conditions for the exam to take place safely. However, the decisive factor for the success of the exam is the people, the exam supervisors and examiners.
Therefore, we expect those who are assigned this responsibility to be qualified, capable, courageous, and professional, and not to be subjective in any aspect, even the smallest problem. Take the experience from other provinces and cities as your own experience.
We also hope that the examination officers will be aware of their responsibilities and properly perform the tasks assigned to them so that the exam is fair to all candidates and ensures objectivity in accordance with regulations.
