Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs awarded scholarships to 200 students in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - 200 scholarships and hundreds of meaningful gifts were given to disadvantaged children in Nghe An province.

On the morning of June 18, the Vietnam Children's Fund in collaboration with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the province organized a gift-giving program for disadvantaged students in Nghi Loc district.

Attending the program on the Central side were comrades: Nguyen Thi Ha - Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Phan Thi Kim Oanh - Deputy Head of the Office of the President.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies; Doan Hong Vu - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, along with representatives of the Vietnam Children's Fund, the Provincial Children's Fund, leaders of Nghi Loc district and related accompanying units.

This is a meaningful activity in response to the Month of Action for Children in 2023. Currently, the Vietnam Children's Fund is chaired by Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Vice President of the State as Chairwoman of the Fund's Board of Trustees, with the participation of leaders of ministries, departments and branches.

The Fund also has a system of operations in provinces and cities across the country. After more than 31 years of operation, the Children's Support Fund at all levels has mobilized nearly 8,000 billion VND to support over 34 million children in especially difficult circumstances nationwide to develop and integrate. Millions of children are living healthy lives, continuing to study and develop through the activities of the Vietnam Children's Support Fund.

In Nghe An, the Vietnam Children's Fund in coordination with departments, agencies, and units in Nghe An organized a program to award 100 scholarships and gifts to 100 disadvantaged children in Nghi Loc district with a total cost of over 150 million VND.

Along with that, 10 sets of computers were donated to Nghi Xuan Primary and Secondary School (Nghi Loc).

In addition to Nghi Loc, on June 17, the delegation also presented scholarships and gifts to children in Hung Nguyen district. Accordingly, in the whole province, the delegation presented 200 scholarships, 30 bicycles, 230 gifts, and 10 computers to children in difficult circumstances.

The program received the attention and support of many students and people in the province. It is a meaningful activity to encourage students to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies and life./.
