Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan appointed as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

According to a decision by the Party Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ministry's Party Committee, has been appointed as Secretary of the Party Committee for the 2011-2015 term.

Former Party Secretary and Deputy Minister Tran Duc Lai retired on March 1st.

Speaking at the ceremony announcing the decision and handing over duties this morning, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc, Dao Ngoc Dung, emphasized that the Party Committee of the Ministry of Information and Communications is a large party committee within the Bloc's Party Committee (with 63 units and 68,000 party members), and is also one of the 24 Party Committees belonging to the Bloc of State Agencies, holding an important position in the system. He expressed confidence that the new Secretary of the Party Committee, Truong Minh Tuan, with his enthusiasm, responsibility, competence, and work experience, will excellently fulfill his duties in his new position.

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son also highly appreciated the competence and sense of responsibility of Mr. Truong Minh Tuan, an energetic official with many years of experience in propaganda and party work, who had participated in many terms of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Propaganda Department before working at the Ministry of Information and Communications.

According to Party Committee Secretary and Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan, in the coming period, the Ministry's Party Committee will focus on three important tasks: preparing documents for the Party Congress of the Ministry of Information and Communications, directing the preparation for the Congress at the grassroots level, and providing feedback on the documents for the Party Congress of the Bloc and higher-level Party Committees.
