British Prime Minister in intensive care
(Baonghean.vn) - The British Prime Minister was transferred to the intensive care unit due to his deteriorating condition after a day in the hospital due to nCoV infection.
"Over the course of this afternoon, Prime Minister Boris Johnson's condition worsened and he was moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital at 7pm (1am April 7 Hanoi time) on the advice of his medical team," the British Prime Minister's Office said.

Prime Minister Johnson, 55, was admitted to St Thomas' Hospital on the evening of April 5, 10 days after being confirmed to have Covid-19. His pregnant girlfriend was also recently confirmed to have the virus. He is conscious but has been moved to the intensive care unit in case he needs help breathing, according to the Prime Minister's Office.
The move is in stark contrast to previous reports about Johnson's health. During his self-isolation, Downing Street said he had only mild symptoms and that his admission to hospital was a "precautionary step".
Earlier in the day, the British Prime Minister's spokesman said he had a "comfortable" night in hospital, but admitted that Johnson had a fever and cough and would not comment on reports that he had been on oxygen. British officials also stopped describing his symptoms as "mild".
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has been appointed as the acting leader in case Johnson is unable to run the country. Mr Raab is chairing daily Covid-19 meetings. Mr Raab said the government would continue Johnson's approach to tackling the pandemic at yesterday's cabinet meeting.
British politicians from the ruling Conservative Party and the opposition Labour Party wished the Prime Minister a speedy recovery. Johnson's predecessor, Theresa May, also sent her best wishes to Mr Johnson in a Twitter post.
"My prayers are with Boris Johnson and his family as he continues to receive treatment in hospital. This terrible virus spares no one, anyone can catch and spread it. Please stay at home," May wrote.
Covid-19 has appeared in 209 countries and territories, causing more than 1.3 million infections and more than 74,000 deaths. The UK currently records more than 51,000 infections, of which nearly 5,400 have died.
