The Government Office has just issued a document conveying Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's direction on the case of two male passengers beating a female flight attendant at Noi Bai airport (Hanoi).

Specifically, Official Dispatch No. 8964, signed and issued on October 20, was sent by the Government Office to the Hanoi People's Committee to convey the Prime Minister's direction on the incident of two male passengers beating a female airline employee at Noi Bai International Airport on October 19, 2016.

The Prime Minister requested the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee to direct relevant agencies to urgently investigate and clarify the matter and report the results to the Prime Minister in October 2016.

Previously, at around 2:00 p.m. on October 19, two passengers named Tran Duong Tung (born in 1984) and Dao Vinh Thuan (born in 1979) on flight VN7265 from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City got into a fight and hit a female airline employee in the head in front of the check-in area at Noi Bai airport, forcing her to go to Saint Paul Hospital for a health check.

Public opinion was outraged because one of the two male passengers, Mr. Dao Vinh Thuan, was identified as an officer of the Road and Bridge Inspection Team - Hanoi Department of Transport. The Chief Inspector of the Department of Transport confirmed this. The Inspector of the Department of Transport said that at the time of the incident, Mr. Thuan was on personal business.

However, the agency's leaders also affirmed that they will consider handling officials for inappropriate behavior, if any.
