Prime Minister: 'We work for national love and compatriots'
On the morning of September 15, implementing the direction of the Politburo, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a Government Standing Committee Conference with localities affected by storm No. 3 on solutions to overcome the consequences and support people and businesses.
According to reports, storm No. 3 is the strongest storm in the past 30 years in the East Sea and the past 70 years on our mainland, causing extremely heavy damage to people and property of the people and the State.
By 6:00 a.m. on September 15, 348 people had died and gone missing, 1,921 people were injured; nearly 232,000 houses were damaged; more than 190,000 hectares of rice were flooded and damaged; nearly 48,000 hectares of crops were flooded and damaged; nearly 32,000 hectares of fruit trees were damaged; 3,269 aquaculture cages were damaged and swept away; more than 2.6 million poultry and livestock died...

In his opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that Typhoon Yagi was a historic storm with seven factors: high intensity; high speed; wide range; many affected objects; lasting for many hours when making landfall; causing heavy rain and floods for a long time, over a large area from Thanh Hoa outwards; causing very serious consequences for people, property, both material and spiritual.
The Politburo, chaired by General Secretary and President To Lam, met and issued timely conclusions; Party and State leaders went to localities to directly direct the work of overcoming the consequences of the storm.
The Prime Minister has issued 9 telegrams with the spirit of closely following the actual situation, responding correctly, accurately, quickly, appropriately, promptly, effectively, and continuously updating the instructions. Typically, such as directing flood diversion solutions from upstream to protect Thac Ba hydroelectric dam in Yen Bai, Hoang Long dike in Ninh Binh and closely coordinating and synchronizing between forces and localities, preparing plans to be ready to respond to situations.
The Prime Minister commended the Deputy Prime Ministers, members of the Government, leaders of ministries, branches, localities, military forces, police... and people for their support, consensus and trust in the Party and State for seriously implementing the Central Government's instructions in responding to and overcoming the consequences of storms, floods and natural disasters.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this conference aims to evaluate the leadership and direction of response and recovery from storm consequences, and at the same time deploy solutions with four major goals.
That is, urgently overcome the consequences of the storm, quickly stabilize the people's situation, restore production and business, and promote economic growth.
"We work for national love, compatriotism, all for the people, for the development of the country," the Prime Minister said.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Government, Prime Minister, ministries, branches and localities have proactively directed early and from afar, closely following the developments of storms and floods.
Forces, especially the army, police, and security forcesDisaster preventionAt the grassroots level, the Prime Minister's direction has been thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented, thereby guiding 51,319 fishing boats with 219,913 people and vehicles, transport ships operating at sea to escape from dangerous areas or return to shelters; organizing the evacuation of 52,979 people on cages, aquaculture watchtowers, and weak houses to safe places; evacuating and relocating 74,526 households with 130,246 people in deeply flooded areas to safe places.
The army mobilized 438,275 people and 6,642 vehicles to respond to the storm; 107,911 people and 2,142 vehicles to respond to floods, landslides, and flash floods; the police mobilized more than 150,000 officers and soldiers to respond to and overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and the floods after the storm.
Local authorities, shock forces, youth unions, etc. are mobilized to the maximum to respond to and overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
