Prime Minister goes to market, checks vegetables and fruits

According to the Government Portal, the working delegation led by the Prime Minister had a meeting with the Hanoi People's Committee on food safety this morning. Before working at the Committee headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and Hanoi leaders directly inspected Long Bien market - one of the largest wholesale markets in the capital.

The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister visited some stalls and talked with small traders at the market. The Head of Government reminded businesses to buy and sell vegetables, agricultural products and food with clear origins and safety for consumers.
"Business people need to maintain business ethics and not buy and sell fruits that are soaked in preservatives, contain toxic chemicals, of unknown origin, and are harmful to the health of consumers and themselves for profit," the Prime Minister advised.

Speaking at the opening of the working session at the Hanoi People's Committee, the Prime Minister emphasized that food safety is an important issue, related to people's lives and health, and is of special concern to society. The working group will focus on inspecting the implementation of Directive 13 on strengthening state management responsibilities in the field of food safety in Hanoi. Thereby, "to see if there are any problems in the mechanisms and policies, whether they need to be supplemented, whether the assignment of tasks is clear, and what lessons Hanoi has learned", said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
