Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited and worked with ICISE Center in Binh Dinh.

The International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education began operating in 2013. The Center was established at the proposal of the Rencontres du Vietnam, founded and run by Professor Tran Thanh Van since 1993, and this proposal was approved by the Government. The Center is a place for exchange, discussion, and transfer of science and technology between Vietnam and other countries in the world; promoting the development of science and education in Vietnam and the Southeast Asian region.

Reporting to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the working session, Professor Tran Thanh Van, who laid the foundation and made great contributions to the establishment of this Center, said that after 5 years of operation, the Center has organized 40 international scientific conferences and 16 specialized scientific schools with more than 3,500 international scientists, including 12 Nobel professors and many other famous scientists.

The Rencontres du Vietnam Association has also proposed to the leaders of Binh Dinh province to build a Science Discovery Center project, a space for scientific discovery for children and the public, bringing science to the masses and inspiring the passion for science and creativity of young people. In addition to state support, the Association has mobilized the intellectual support of many international scientists.

With the proposal to form an international science city in Binh Dinh by the Rencontres du Vietnam, Professor Tran Thanh Van expressed his hope that the Government would pay attention to creating conditions to help Binh Dinh province build this science city to promote the scientific potential of the region.

The Rencontres du Vietnam also hopes that the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology will establish institutes or research centers in the Quy Hoa Science and Education Urban Area, Quy Nhon City to maximize the intellectual resources of international scientists attending the conference at the ICISE Center. This can start with the fields of theoretical physics, nanophysics, astrophysics, applied mathematics, climate change response, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education, with the important role of Professor Tran Thanh Van and scientists, which has achieved many positive results, gradually forming a large scientific research facility and an orientation towards a scientific city and urban area. Although it has only been established for 5 years, the Center has organized many major international scientific events here. That makes many world-famous scientists know more about Vietnam and especially the Vietnamese scientific community has the opportunity to exchange, connect and discuss with famous international scientists about new scientific achievements.

The Prime Minister also highly appreciated the couple Professor Tran Thanh Van and Le Kim Ngoc for coming up with many new ideas related to human resource training, contributing to creating a model and learning environment in our country.

Before visiting the Center, the Prime Minister visited and heard about the Quy Nhon Innovation Valley project. He highly appreciated the work of bringing science closer to education. In the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution, which poses many opportunities and challenges for Vietnam, especially the young generation of Vietnam, the Prime Minister hopes that the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education will develop sustainably, effectively and have a high impact, becoming an international playground that contributes to promoting Vietnam's basic scientific research, as well as training human resources for the country.

Appreciating the idea of building a Science City in Binh Dinh, the Prime Minister agreed in principle to build a science and education city in Binh Dinh. This is a bold and pioneering step to gather many world-famous scientists, contributing to promoting the country's science.

The Prime Minister also requested the Center to continue creating a good scientific environment to attract more scientists to research, collaborate, and exchange academic knowledge; to have close connections and cooperation with universities and basic scientific research centers in Vietnam and internationally; and to create conditions to promote both basic and applied sciences in Vietnam.

Emphasizing that the application of scientific achievements to economic development is very important in the context of Vietnam's economic restructuring and growth model transformation, the Prime Minister hopes that the Center will be a place to connect and promote the application of science and technology into practice, including many necessary fields such as climate change response.

Considering Professor Tran Thanh Van and Professor Le Kim Ngoc as symbolic models of intellectuals who are devoted to the development of science and have great love for their homeland and country, even at an advanced age, the Prime Minister hopes that young scientists will study and strive to contribute to science and the country./.
