During his official visit to Türkiye, on the evening of November 29 (local time), in the capital Ankara, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife met with officials and staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Turkey.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Türkiye Do Son Hai said that the Vietnamese community in Türkiye has about 200 people. They all abide by the law and integrate well into the local community; they are always united, help each other and look towards their homeland and country.

In particular, Vietnamese-owned businesses and enterprises, although newly developed on a small and medium scale, have gradually promoted trade and introduced Vietnamese goods and cuisine to local people.

At the meeting, Vietnamese people in Türkiye expressed their joy at the remarkable development and their belief in the increasingly strong development of the country, as well as the good and constantly fostered relationship between Vietnam and Türkiye. In particular, they were moved by the attention and care of the Party and State for the Vietnamese community abroad, including Vietnamese people in Türkiye.

People hope that the Party and State will have more meaningful and practical policies and activities so that people have more opportunities to contribute to their homeland, have more activities to promote the image of the country, culture and Vietnamese people in the locality, helping people to be more confident in life, study, work, etc.

In response to the sentiments of the Vietnamese community in Türkiye, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his emotion and sent his warmest regards and best wishes to all Vietnamese people living, working, studying and working in Turkey.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the overseas Vietnamese community, including the community in Türkiye, is increasing in number and expanding in geographical area with about 6 million people in more than 130 countries and territories, of which 0.6 million are experts and intellectuals.

The role, position and prestige of the overseas Vietnamese community in the host society continue to be consolidated and enhanced. They always turn to their homeland and country in all circumstances, whether difficult or favorable. To date, overseas Vietnamese have had 385 investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of more than 1.7 billion USD and contributed capital to thousands of enterprises in Vietnam.

Appreciating and congratulating the growth of the Vietnamese community in Türkiye, the Prime Minister said that he had asked the Turkish side to continue creating more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to continue living and working in Turkey, deeply integrating into the locality, actively contributing to the development of Turkey as well as the friendly relations between the two countries and always looking towards the homeland and country.

The Prime Minister affirmed that "Overseas Vietnamese are an inseparable part and a resource of the Vietnamese ethnic community"; the Party and State always care for, look after and support them to stabilize and integrate into the host society, preserve the Vietnamese language and cultural identity, and at the same time encourage and create favorable conditions for them to actively contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Prime Minister hopes that people will feel secure and continue to trust in the leadership of the Party and State; the Embassy in Türkiye will maintain its core role in gathering and uniting the community, building an increasingly stable and developing community; become a solid bridge for the friendly relations between the two countries and peoples; preserve national identity and homeland; educate children about their roots, and maintain the Vietnamese language.

The Prime Minister requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Türkiye to continue to pay attention to and do better in the work of overseas Vietnamese; first of all, to carry out procedures related to overseas Vietnamese in the simplest and most convenient way; to grasp full information and data about overseas Vietnamese, such as the address of each person, to promptly care for their material and spiritual life; to regularly connect with overseas Vietnamese, actively support community activities and soon establish an Association of Vietnamese in Türkiye.

Informing the people about the domestic situation, the Prime Minister emphasized that after World War II, the Vietnamese people experienced all the most profound levels of loss, sacrifice, and suffering when confronting fascism, old colonialism, neo-colonialism, genocide, border wars, sieges, and embargoes. However, we have risen up, becoming a model of restoration and healing the wounds of war, putting the past behind us, and looking toward the future.

After more than 35 years of renovation, our country has achieved many great and historic achievements. Vietnam's role, position and prestige are increasingly affirmed in the world. Wherever we go on this Earth, we have the right to be proud to be Vietnamese, the Prime Minister said.

Recently, despite the general context of many difficulties and challenges, thanks to the drastic participation of the entire political system under the leadership and direction of the Central Executive Committee, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; the attention and assistance of international friends and the support and active participation of the people, the business community, and overseas Vietnamese, including the Vietnamese community in Turkey, the Vietnamese economy continues to achieve encouraging results.

The socio-economic situation continues to have many bright spots in all areas with the results of "better month after month, better quarter after quarter". Vietnam's macro-economy remains stable, inflation is under control, and major balances of the economy are guaranteed. Public debt, government debt, and foreign debt are under control. It is estimated that in 2023, registered foreign direct investment in Vietnam will reach about 30 billion USD, the highest ever...

Regarding Vietnam-Türkiye relations, the Prime Minister said that the cooperation between the two countries is developing well in many fields. The two sides regularly exchange delegations; actively coordinate and support each other at international organizations; and support each other in times of difficulty and adversity.

The Prime Minister said that during his meetings during this and previous trips, senior Turkish leaders also affirmed that they consider Vietnam a top priority partner in the Southeast Asian region, while emphasizing their desire to improve the effectiveness of cooperation with Vietnam.

Türkiye is one of Vietnam's leading important partners in the Middle East. Trade between the two countries in 2022 reached more than 2 billion USD, an increase of 26.2% compared to 2021. Vietnam is currently Turkey's second largest trading partner in ASEAN; Turkey is the 26th largest foreign investor out of 143 of Vietnam...

The two sides agreed to continue to elevate the Vietnam-Türkiye relationship to a new height; promote cooperation in all areas, especially in areas where one side has strengths and the other side has needs. At the same time, consider simplifying visa procedures to further facilitate citizens of both countries.

"This is an important foundation for the Vietnam-Türkiye relationship to continue to develop to new heights; it is also the foundation for the Vietnamese community in Türkiye to continue to develop," the Prime Minister emphasized.

The Prime Minister shared, acknowledged and partially responded to the opinions, recommendations, wishes and proposals of the people; said that he would direct relevant ministries, branches and agencies to focus on reviewing, researching and soon having appropriate solutions in the spirit of openness, timeliness and thoroughness./.
