German Chancellor is the most powerful woman in the world

The prestigious Forbes magazine announced the list of 100 most powerful women in the world in 2015. Topping the list is still German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Chancellor Angela Merkel has topped the list of the world's 100 most powerful women. In second place is US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Last year, Clinton was ranked 6th.

The next positions belong to Mrs. Melinda Gates, wife of billionaire Bill Gates and Chairwoman of the US Federal Reserve Janet Yellen. The top 10 list voted by Forbes also includes Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde, President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff and First Lady of the US Michelle Obama.

Forbes magazine's list of the 100 most powerful and influential women in the world has been compiled since 2004. Their popularity is referenced based on media coverage and influence in different areas of life.
