Prime Minister assigns GDP growth target of about 6.7% in 2017
The Prime Minister has just decided to assign 5 Ministries: Planning and Investment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Health, Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs the socio-economic development plan targets for 2017.
Specifically, for the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Prime Minister assigned the target of the 2017 planned GDP growth rate of about 6.7%, the average consumer price index (CPI) growth rate of about 4%, the total social development investment capital compared to GDP of about 31.5%, the rate of industrial parks and export processing zones in operation with centralized wastewater treatment systems meeting environmental standards is 87%.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was assigned the target of forest coverage rate for 2017 at 41.45%.
The growth rate of total export turnover is 6-7%, the ratio of trade deficit to total export turnover is about 3.5%, the reduction rate of energy consumption per unit of GDP compared to 2016 is 1.5% are the 2017 plan targets assigned to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Ministry of Health was assigned a target of 25.5 hospital beds per 10,000 people (excluding commune health station beds), and the rate of population participating in health insurance was 82.2%.
The 2017 plan targets assigned to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs include a reduction in the poverty rate according to the multidimensional poverty standard of 1-1.5%, including a reduction in the poverty rate in poor districts of 4%; an unemployment rate in urban areas of less than 4%; a rate of trained workers of 55-57%, including a rate of workers trained for 3 months or more with a certificate recognizing training results of 22.5%.
The Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Planning and Investment to notify ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, other central agencies, economic groups, and state-owned corporations of the targets related to the 2017 socio-economic development plan, including: Information and communication, education and training; basic investigation tasks; production tasks.
Based on the above assigned targets, ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, other central agencies, economic groups, and state-owned corporations shall notify relevant units of the 2017 socio-economic development plan targets for the units before December 31, 2016 for implementation.
In addition, strive to complete the targets of the 2017 Socio-Economic Development Plan according to the Resolution of the National Assembly and the 2017 Socio-Economic Development Plan and this Decision.
Every quarter, ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, other central agencies, economic groups, and state-owned corporations shall send reports on the implementation status and results of the 2017 Socio-Economic Development Plan to the Ministry of Planning and Investment for synthesis and reporting to the Government./.
