Prime Minister Hun Sen thanks Vietnam for organizing 'historic visit'
Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen emphasized this during a working session with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
On the morning of June 22, at Binh Duong Convention Center, following activities within the framework of the visit to Vietnam of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Hun Sen had a working session to discuss measures to promote cooperation between the two countries, especially the contents the two Prime Ministers raised during the official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in April 2017.

Attending the meeting, on the Vietnamese side were Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Minister - Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee Tran Van Nam, Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa.
Joining Prime Minister Hun Sen on the Cambodian side were Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Defense Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection Men Sam An; Deputy Prime Minister, Acting Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers Bin Chhin, Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhayly, Deputy Prime Minister - Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency Ker Kimyan, and Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Army Pol Saroeun.
In an atmosphere of friendly neighborliness, sincerity, openness and mutual trust, the two Prime Ministers frankly discussed specific cooperation contents in the fields of economy, defense, culture, education and many other contents; agreed on the need to create conditions to further encourage investment activities, trade exchange of both goods and services; strengthen coordination at regional and international forums; propose specific cooperation measures to prevent terrorism, transnational crime, smuggling as well as emerging security issues to ensure peace and stability in the region as well as in each country.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated the defense cooperation between the two countries and asked Cambodia to pay attention to and direct the promotion of the search, recovery and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia.
Acknowledging the huge workload in completing 84% of the land border demarcation and marker planting work between the two countries, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested that both sides promote negotiations, find solutions for the remaining border sections and cooperate closely in border management to build the two countries' border into a border of peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked Cambodia to continue to pay attention and direct relevant agencies to promote the progress and effectiveness of the work of granting legal documents to Vietnamese people in Cambodia according to the content discussed by the two sides in the meeting on June 25, 2017.
Prime Minister Hun Sen agreed with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's proposals and affirmed that he would pay attention to directing relevant Cambodian agencies to promote implementation, especially issues of repatriation of martyrs' remains, borders and overseas Vietnamese.
Prime Minister Hun Sen once again expressed his deep gratitude for the sacrifices that Vietnam has made for Cambodia, helping Cambodia escape the Pol Pot genocidal regime; thanked Vietnam for successfully organizing this visit to Vietnam, a historic visit not only for Prime Minister Hun Sen personally but also for the Cambodian people to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Cambodia's path to national salvation.
Prime Minister Hun Sen warmly congratulated the great achievements that the Vietnamese Government and people have achieved in recent times, and highly appreciated the practical and effective contributions of Vietnamese enterprises and investors in Cambodia to socio-economic development, contributing to improving the lives and taking care of both material and spiritual social security for the Cambodian people.
The two sides reached high consensus on all contents to further strengthen and develop the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.
On the same day, Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen and a high-ranking delegation of the Cambodian Government returned home, successfully concluding their visit to Vietnam./.
