Prime Minister praises rescue forces in hydroelectric tunnel collapse

Although he was on a business trip in Thailand, when he received news of the successful rescue of 12 workers trapped in the Da Dang hydroelectric tunnel (Lam Dong), Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung was very happy and sent a letter of praise to the rescue team right after the plane landed in Bangkok on the evening of December 19.

Dear:Rescue forces of workers trapped in the collapsed water tunnel of Da Dang Hydropower Plant (in Lat Commune, Lac Duong District, Lam Dong Province)

In the past 4 days (from December 16 to 19, 2014), the rescue work for 12 workers trapped in the collapsed tunnel of the Da Dang hydropower project (in Lat Commune, Lac Duong District, Lam Dong Province) has been focused on and directed with great determination; the National Committee for Search and Rescue, Ministries, branches, Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command, departments and branches of Lam Dong Province, military forces, police, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group, Song Da Corporation and other rescue forces have closely cooperated, coordinated smoothly, promptly deployed rescue plans and achieved very good results. On the afternoon of December 19, 2014, all 12 people trapped in the collapsed tunnel were brought out safely by rescue forces, in good health. This is a very joyful result, meeting the expectations of relatives and compatriots across the country who have been following, sharing and supporting over the past days.
