Prime Minister leaves for the 40th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee
At the invitation of Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, on the morning of February 4, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc led a high-ranking Government delegation leaving Hanoi for Vientiane to attend and co-chair the 40th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee from February 4-5.
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Committee; Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh; Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The; Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha; Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha accompanied the Prime Minister.

Also participating in the delegation were Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Dang Quoc Khanh; Chairman of Hoa Binh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Quang; Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Mua A Son; and representatives of leaders of a number of other ministries, branches and localities.
It is expected that at this meeting, Vietnam and Laos will evaluate the cooperation between the two countries in various fields in 2017 and prepare cooperation contents, propose new breakthrough solutions to improve the effectiveness of cooperation in 2018.
The two sides will also promote the implementation of the contents of the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Agreement for the 2016-2020 period as well as promote the success and spirit of the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017.
