Prime Minister removes 9 cement projects from planning
These projects have a capacity of less than 2,500 tons of clinker/day.
The Prime Minister has just issued Official Letter No. 485/TTg-KTN on reviewing and adjusting the progress of cement projects according to the planning. Accordingly, the Prime Minister agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Construction on adjusting the progress of some cement projects. Accordingly, 9 projects with a capacity of less than 2,500 tons of clinker/day were removed from the planning.
Projects in this category include: Ha Tien - Kien Giang, Truong Son - Ro Li, Hop Son, Ngoc Ha, VINAFUJI Lao Cai, Thanh Truong, Son Duong, Quang Minh, Cao Bang.
At the same time, the Prime Minister also agreed to extend the investment progress of 7 projects: He Duong II, My Duc, Thanh Son, Tan Thang, Do Luong, Tan Phu Xuan, Nam Dong to the period after 2015. Xuan Thanh 2 project (Ha Nam) was included in the list of cement projects expected to operate before 2015.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to take measures to monitor the implementation of projects according to the adjusted schedule; proactively develop solutions to ensure the balance between cement supply and demand to meet the requirements of reasonable and effective use of mineral resources.
At the same time, the Ministry of Construction presided over and coordinated with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Cement Association, and the Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) to agree on solutions to improve efficiency in cement exports and limit damage to domestic cement production enterprises./.
