Chancellor Merkel: Germany cannot "shoulder" the migration problem alone
Mrs. Merkel declared on September 20 that Europe needs to share responsibility for the migrant problem and that Germany will not accept immigrants who come to the country for economic reasons.
“Germany is always ready to help, but this is not a problem for Germany alone, but for Europe as a whole. Europe needs to act together and take responsibility together. Germany cannot “shoulder” this responsibility alone,” Merkel stressed.

The German Chancellor also warned that immigrants who come for economic purposes instead of fleeing war will not be accepted by this country.
“Germany is a powerful country, but it would be unrealistic to think that Germany alone can solve all social problems globally,” said Ms. Merkel.
“We are ready to provide shelter to those who really need it, but I have to say that those who come here for economic purposes will not be able to stay here,” Merkel warned.
Merkel's tough words came as Hungary and Croatia are locked in a bitter dispute over the thousands of migrants pouring into the two countries, creating deep divisions over how European countries should respond to the issue.
It is expected that at the meeting on September 22, the Interior Ministers of European countries will discuss and agree on the distribution of 120,000 refugees to all European countries within the next 2 years.
