The Prime Minister hoped that the people would continue to contribute to the country through many different channels. The Party and State leaders always listen to the enthusiastic and constructive opinions of the people;

We hope that more and more overseas Vietnamese investors will invest in Vietnam, especially when Vietnam has joined 12 free trade agreements, including CPTPP and the upcoming Vietnam-EU free trade agreement. The opportunities for investors are huge, not only in Vietnam but also in the markets where Vietnam has signed free trade agreements.

The Prime Minister emphasized the important contributions of overseas Vietnamese, and once again affirmed that the Party and State always care about Vietnamese people everywhere in the world.

"The leaders of the countries I met praised Vietnam. There was no conversation with the Prime Minister or President of the countries in which I did not remind them that they must protect the human rights and civil rights of overseas Vietnamese. They all agreed and expressed their love for the Vietnamese people. Vietnam's position today is very different from the past, including strong and sustainable domestic development, along with the role of overseas Vietnamese. Never before has the World Economic Forum organized a dialogue between the Prime Minister and the President of the WEF, which was broadcast live on the official global network of the WEF with the theme "Vietnam and the World". At this Davos conference, Vietnam's position is more affirmed, including the contribution of overseas Vietnamese," said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the efforts and dedication of many overseas Vietnamese in collecting valuable ancient maps and documents proving Vietnam's long-standing sovereignty over the East Sea.

In the coming time, the Prime Minister hopes that overseas Vietnamese will continue to preserve the traditional culture of the nation in each family, especially paying attention to education and teaching Vietnamese to their children. Along with that, it is necessary to promote start-up activities of young overseas Vietnamese returning to the country.

Informing that there are currently about 200 investment projects with a capital of about 5 billion USD of overseas Vietnamese returning to the country, the Prime Minister hopes that there will be more and more investment projects from overseas Vietnamese, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

In the 480 billion USD trade turnover between Vietnam and other countries last year, the Prime Minister said that overseas Vietnamese contributed to the role of a bridge. The Prime Minister hoped that overseas Vietnamese would continue to contribute to promoting economic cooperation between Vietnam and other countries, especially trade and investment activities, calling for investment capital into Vietnam, and expanding the distribution network of Vietnamese goods abroad.

Reiterating the Government's 12-word motto for 2019: Discipline, integrity, action, creativity, efficiency, breakthrough, the Prime Minister asked overseas Vietnamese to join hands and contribute to creating a "breakthrough" as the set goal. The first thing to do is to promote solidarity within the overseas Vietnamese community.

Through effective and creative measures, the Prime Minister hopes that overseas Vietnamese will promote and introduce Vietnamese products abroad, bringing Vietnamese goods into the distribution systems of the host country. Along with that, the Prime Minister hopes that overseas Vietnamese will continue to promote investment in Vietnam, "making a storm out of a few", creating a large source of overseas investment in the country.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also discussed a number of recommendations from overseas Vietnamese, including the initiative to organize a 'Global Vietnamese National Day'. The Prime Minister said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism are coordinating to study and propose appropriate steps.
