Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrives in Berlin (Germany)
In the early morning of October 15th (Vietnam time), Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the high-level Vietnamese delegation departed from Stuttgart for Berlin, Germany. According to the visit program, today, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's official diplomatic activities during his visit to Germany will take place in Berlin.
Earlier, on the evening of October 14th (Vietnam time), Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, beginning a two-day official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany at the invitation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The Baden-Württemberg state government accorded the most solemn diplomatic ceremonies to welcome Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the high-level Vietnamese delegation.
State Premier Winfried Kretschmann expressed his honor to welcome Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the high-level Vietnamese delegation to Baden-Württemberg, the first destination of this official visit to Germany.

Minister President Winfried Kretschmann highly appreciated Vietnam's remarkable economic development as well as the increasingly developing cooperative relationship between the state of Baden Wuerttemberg in particular and Germany in general with Vietnam. In particular, economic relations between Germany and the state of Baden Wuerttemberg with Vietnam have been very dynamic for many years.
“Vietnam is a country that is successfully developing. Germany is not only Vietnam’s largest trading partner in the European Union, but since 2011, Vietnam and Germany have been closely linked in a strategic partnership,” said German Premier Winfried Kretschmann.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed his pleasure at visiting the state of Baden-Württemberg for the first time, a renowned center of industry and commerce in Germany and Europe.
Agreeing with the assessment of the Minister-President of Baden Wuerttemberg, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed satisfaction that relations between Vietnam and Baden Wuerttemberg are progressing positively in many areas such as economics, investment, education, and labor cooperation, making an important contribution to promoting the comprehensive and effective development of the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership.
Many large businesses from the state of Baden Wuerttemberg, such as Bosch (machinery manufacturing), Daimler (automobiles), and Bilfinger (design consulting, construction), are operating effectively in Vietnam.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized: “We are pleased to see an increasing number of large enterprises from the state of Baden-Württemberg in Vietnam. We will create favorable conditions for these businesses to operate long-term and effectively in Vietnam, especially in fields such as: equipment manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, clean energy, vocational training, etc.”
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also requested the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Government to continue supporting the implementation of the project to build the Vietnamese-German University in Ho Chi Minh City, to promote the signing of a Letter of Intent for cooperation between Vietnam and Baden-Wuerttemberg in the field of science and technology, and to expand support for vocational training projects following the German dual training model in Vietnam.
State Premier Winfried Kretschmann assessed the pilot program for sending Vietnamese nurses to work in Germany, in which many trainees are being trained at facilities in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, as having achieved positive results and agreed to study the possibility of expanding cooperation to other professions such as electrical and plumbing engineering.
Also in Stuttgart, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, together with State Premier Winfried Kretschmann, attended the Vietnam-Baden Wuerttemberg Economic Dialogue forum.
Based on a general overview of Vietnam's major development policies and strategies, coupled with significant investment and business cooperation opportunities for enterprises of both countries following the signing of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed the areas in which Vietnam is encouraging foreign investors in general, and German enterprises in particular, to cooperate in the process of equitizing state-owned enterprises, developing infrastructure in electricity, renewable energy, urban transport, seaports, and airports.
