During his official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, on the evening of October 15th (Vietnam time) in Berlin, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with German President Joachim Gauck and received German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier.

During the meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, German President Joachim Gauck affirmed that Germany always values ​​promoting the friendly cooperative relationship that has been nurtured by the leaders and people of both countries over many generations.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive development of the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership and agreed to strengthen cooperation in all areas, especially in politics, economics, development cooperation, education and training, as the two countries look forward to celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2015.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung thanked the German State and Government for their attention and for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and work stably, thereby making a positive contribution to Germany's prosperity and playing a bridging role in strengthening relations between the two countries.

During his meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung highly appreciated the role of the two countries' Ministries of Foreign Affairs in developing and promoting the implementation of the contents of the Strategic Action Plan to concretize the substance of the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership.

The Prime Minister requested that the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs closely coordinate with relevant agencies of both countries to develop and implement meaningful activities to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany (1975-2015).

Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier affirmed that Germany attaches great importance to promoting relations with Vietnam and supports Vietnam in strengthening comprehensive cooperation with the EU, as well as promoting cooperation with Vietnam in multilateral forums and international organizations.

Also last night, according to Vietnam time, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Energy Sigmar Gabriel.

Early this morning (October 16), Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the high-level Vietnamese delegation departed from Berlin, successfully concluding their official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, and traveled to Milan (Italy) to attend the 10th Asia-Europe Summit (ASEM 10).
