On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung welcomed and highly appreciated the visit and working visit to Vietnam by Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Johan Vande Lanotte, saying that the visit will significantly contribute to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stressed that this year Vietnam and Belgium celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations, an important milestone in the relationship between the two countries. Vietnam wishes to work with Belgium to strengthen political and diplomatic relations as a foundation to continue to strongly promote economic, trade, investment and ODA cooperation as well as support and help each other in international forums.
Expressing his impression of Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, Deputy Prime Minister Johan Vande Lanotte emphasized that Belgium wishes to strengthen friendly relations and promote cooperation with Vietnam, especially in trade and investment. Belgian investors wish to expand investment in Vietnam, especially in Dinh Vu Industrial Park, Hai Phong.
Belgium is also ready to be a bridge for Vietnam to increase exports to Europe, ready to promote cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of high technology, space, satellites as well as ODA.
Deputy Prime Minister Johan Vande Lanotte affirmed that Belgium is making efforts to push the European Union to soon conclude negotiations and sign a Free Trade Agreement with Vietnam, which will bring development opportunities for both countries, especially in the field of Logistics, which is Belgium's strength, and Belgium is also willing to share experiences and cooperate with Vietnam in this field...
