Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc meets with President of the Japanese House of Councillors
The Prime Minister appreciated the Senate President's contributions to promoting the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
On the morning of June 6, at the Japanese Parliament Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with President of the Japanese House of Councilors Date Chuichi.

The two sides expressed their delight at the strong, comprehensive and substantive development of the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership; especially the frequent mutual visits by high-ranking leaders of the two countries in recent times, such as the visit to Vietnam by the King and Queen in March this year; and agreed that the two countries have all the conditions to promote and deepen their cooperative relations in the coming time.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated the contributions of the Senate and Senate President Date Chuichi himself in promoting the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries in many fields of economics, investment, and people-to-people exchange, especially in providing official development assistance (ODA) to help Vietnam develop its socio-economy; affirming that Vietnam always respects and effectively uses Japan's ODA capital.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that the National Assemblies of the two countries need to promote their supervisory role and urge the Governments of the two countries to actively implement signed agreements, contributing to deepening the friendly cooperation between the two countries; suggested that the two sides expand cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries; increase information and experience exchange in legislative work; promote the bridging role of the friendship parliamentary organizations of the two countries; and strengthen coordination and cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Japan at regional and international inter-parliamentary forums, especially at the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum APPF in January 2018.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also asked the Japanese National Assembly to pay attention to promoting cooperation in the field of labor and between localities of the two countries, and continue to strongly support the stance of ASEAN and Vietnam on the East Sea issue.
Senate President Date Chuichi welcomed Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's official visit to Japan and his attendance at the Future of Asia Conference, congratulated the success of the Vietnam Investment Promotion Conference held in Tokyo on June 5 with the participation of the two Prime Ministers and more than 1,600 businesses of the two countries, and highly appreciated Vietnam's economic development in recent years.
The Senate President affirmed that he attaches importance to further strengthening the extensive and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and will support the Japanese Government to continue cooperating and supporting Vietnam in socio-economic development. Senate President Date also expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Government will continue to improve the investment and business environment to promote Japanese investment in Vietnam, including the activities of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The two sides agreed to enhance cultural cooperation, local and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, especially on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations in 2018./.
