Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc today met with the Emperor and Empress of Japan during his official visit to Japan and to attend the 23rd Conference on the Future of Asia. The visit lasts from June 4 to 8.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always gives high priority to cooperative relations with Japan and will do its utmost to develop bilateral relations increasingly strongly and comprehensively, in accordance with the interests of the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region as well as in the world.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the first state visit to Vietnam by the Emperor and Empress in March was an important and symbolic milestone in the friendly cooperation between the two countries, creating conditions to further promote the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan in all fields.

The Japanese Emperor expressed his wish that the two countries would increasingly strengthen relations and enhance people-to-people exchanges.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc invited members of the Japanese Royal Family to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2018./.
