Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc leaves for ASEAN-India Summit
On the morning of January 24, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation leaving Hanoi for India to attend the ASEAN-India Summit and the 69th Republic Day of India.

At the invitation of Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi, on the morning of January 24, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation leaving Hanoi for India to attend the ASEAN-India Summit and the 69th Republic Day of India, from January 24-26.
Accompanying Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife Tran Nguyet Thu were Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung; Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh; Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha; Senior Lieutenant General, Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Chi Vinh; Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam; Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province Nguyen Hong Dien; Vietnamese Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung and leaders of a number of ministries and branches.
With the theme “Shared Values, Common Destiny,” the conference is an opportunity to further promote Vietnam-India relations, while clearly demonstrating Vietnam’s coordinating role in ASEAN-India relations.
ASEAN and India have always enjoyed good relations. In 2017, India and ASEAN celebrated 25 years of dialogue relations, 15 years of high-level mechanisms, and 5 years of strategic partnership.
ASEAN-India relations continue to develop comprehensively across all three pillars of politics-security, economics, and culture-society. To date, ASEAN-India have established 30 high-level dialogue mechanisms.
Over the past 10 years, ASEAN-India bilateral trade has increased nearly 2.5 times, reaching nearly 76 billion USD in 2017. Currently, ASEAN is India's 4th largest trading partner and India is ASEAN's 6th largest trading partner.
India is launching a Project Development Fund worth 75 million USD to support Indian businesses investing in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam./.
