The Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attending the WEF conference will continue to convey a strong message about Vietnam's economic prospects.

At the invitation of Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab, today (January 17), Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will lead a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland from January 17-21, 2017.

With the theme “Proactive and Responsible Leadership”, the 2017 World Economic Forum is expected to have more than 300 discussion sessions on groups of issues: improving global governance; responding to security instabilities and crises; promoting inclusive and sustainable development in the context of slow world economic growth; economic restructuring and social reform in countries and regions; and developing new industrial systems and business models in the context of the fourth industrial revolution.

As one of the prestigious global forums, the Davos World Economic Forum attracts the attention and participation of many leaders of many countries, international organizations as well as the world's leading corporations and companies. With the aim of discussing economic - development issues and global current events and providing orientation on regional economic development issues, within the framework of the World Economic Forum Annual Conference, many global and regional events will take place such as the World Economic Forum on East Asia, the World Economic Forum on Latin America, the World Economic Forum on the Middle East, etc.

Vietnam and the World Economic Forum established cooperative relations in 1989. Senior leaders of Vietnam regularly attend the Annual Meetings of the World Economic Forum in Davos and the World Economic Forum on East Asia. In 2010, Vietnam organized the World Economic Forum on East Asia in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of 450 delegates, including many senior world leaders, demonstrating Vietnam's dynamism and positivity, making a good and dynamic impression on government leaders of countries and the global business community.

In recent times, the relationship between Vietnam and WEF has continued to develop positively. In October 2016, in Hanoi, Vietnam coordinated with WEF to successfully organize the World Economic Forum on the Mekong (WEF-Mekong) on ​​the occasion of the 7th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit and the 8th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam Cooperation Summit. This is an important milestone in the relationship between Vietnam and WEF, highly appreciated by WEF and the business community in the region.

Attending the 2017 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos this year, the Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will continue to convey a strong message about Vietnam's economic prospects, Vietnam's determination to comprehensively reform the country and proactively and actively integrate into the world. This shows Vietnam's commitment to building an action-oriented and development-creating Government in line with the Conference's theme of "Proactive and Responsible Leadership".

The conference is also an opportunity for Vietnam to promote its position and role as host of APEC 2017 to attract the attention and support of the international community for the activities of APEC 2017.
