On the morning of April 23 in Hanoi, the Government held an online conference on international integration. Speaking at the Conference, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that international integration is a major, consistent and continuous policy of the Party and State and is concretized appropriately for each stage of the country's development.
The Prime Minister stated that this is a particularly important conference in the context of many international and domestic changes, especially when the world and regional situation continues to develop in a complex and unpredictable manner, "requiring us to carefully study, exchange, and discuss frankly and specifically to find new, more effective directions, methods, and approaches to meet immediate, medium- and long-term requirements and tasks."

At the same time, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also requested analysis and forecast of the international and domestic situation, especially opportunities, advantages, difficulties and challenges from now to 2020 and in the next 5 years and 10 years, in which special attention must be paid to the rapid progress of the 4.0 industrial revolution.
The Prime Minister requested to clearly define the vision, goals, and strategic orientation for integration work, thereby proposing tasks, solutions, plans, and action programs for each field, especially regarding the specific mechanisms, policies, and solutions to promote proactive, effective, and sustainable international integration, contributing to the implementation of tasks and the 5-year plan (2016-2020) and preparing to build the 10-year socio-economic development strategy (2021-2030)...

At the conference, delegates listened to speeches by the leaders of the Central External Relations Commission on "Strengthening the Party's external affairs work, contributing to the effective implementation of deep international integration", and by the leaders of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee on "Proactively and actively implementing the strategic orientation of international integration in the National Assembly's external affairs activities"...
Vietnam has signed and concluded negotiations on many Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) such as with South Korea, the Eurasian Economic Union, CPTPP, EVFTA..., opening up a large space for cooperation for the growing economy in the coming time.
At the same time, Vietnam has expanded relations, upgraded partnerships with many countries, successfully organized regional and global events such as APEC 2017, the 2nd US-North Korea Summit (February 2019)...
These are evidences of Vietnam's policy of being a friend and reliable partner of the international community, enhancing the country's position, and demonstrating Vietnam's proactive and positive role.
