Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe officially resigns
At exactly 5:00 p.m. this afternoon (August 28), Prime Minister Abe Shinzo held a press conference, officially announcing that he would resign from the position of Prime Minister due to health reasons.

According to a Kyodo poll in late July, the Japanese cabinet's approval rating fell to 36%, and 59.1% of respondents were dissatisfied with its anti-epidemic measures. It is known that the cabinet's approval rating when Mr. Abe returned to power in 2012 was up to 62%.
