Japanese Prime Minister Nominates President Trump for Nobel Peace Prize
Trump said he made the Japanese feel safe and complained that he would not be awarded a Nobel Prize like Obama.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe "sent me a copy of the letter that he sent to the Nobel committee," Trump said at a White House press conference on February 15 when asked about his planned summit in Vietnam with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in late February. "He said, 'On behalf of Japan, I am nominating you. I am asking them to give you the Nobel Peace Prize.'"
"You know why? Because there were missiles flying over Japan. Now they feel safe. I made it happen," Trump emphasized.
Trump also complained about the Nobel Peace Prize that former President Barack Obama was awarded in 2009, saying he would not be honored in the same way.
"They gave it to Obama. He didn't even know why he got it. And I probably will never get it."
Trump claims he saved three million lives in Syria's rebel-held Idlib region after he warned Russia, Iran and the Syrian government against attacking it.
“Nobody talks about it,” he complained.
Last April, South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Trump deserved a Nobel Prize for his efforts to negotiate an end to North Korea's nuclear weapons program.
Trump is scheduled to meet with leader Kim Jong-un in Hanoi on February 27-28 to continue discussions on the nuclear issue. Trump described their first meeting in Singapore last June as a victory, but many experts said there was no real progress on denuclearization.
