Prime Minister: Must prevent the formation of reactionary organizations

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung requested the People's Public Security force to grasp and promptly fight to prevent the formation of reactionary organizations that sabotage the Fatherland and the revolutionary cause of the Party and people.

On the morning of August 16, attending and speaking at the meeting to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the People's Public Security Tradition Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2014); receiving the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for collectives and individuals and launching a special emulation movement towards the 70th anniversary of the People's Public Security Tradition Day, 10th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that over the past 69 years, under the leadership and direction of the Party and State, in the close and blood-related protection of the people, the People's Public Security force was born, worked, fought and grew up; always loyal to the Fatherland, to the people, to the Party, State and regime.

Highlighting the country's important achievements in recent times as well as analyzing the advantages, difficulties and challenges that the country is facing, especially the complicated developments in the East Sea, challenges related to political security, social order and safety, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that the most important task of the country is to build and protect the country, protect the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam; maintain peace, independence, territorial integrity; and complete the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.

Reminding the People's Public Security officers and soldiers of the importance of the task of ensuring security and order, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hoped that the People's Public Security force must promote its good traditions and achievements, strive to overcome limitations and weaknesses, maintain the country's political security; fight to prevent the formation of reactionary organizations that sabotage the Fatherland and the revolutionary cause of the Party and the people. In addition, it is necessary to organize well the drawing of experiences and focus on directing resolutely and effectively the work of ensuring social order and safety, protecting the peaceful life of the people; especially against gangster-style crimes and organized crimes.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung requested the Ministry of Public Security to focus on building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern People's Public Security force, with some areas immediately entering modernity to ensure good performance of the functions, tasks, and responsibilities assigned by the Party, State, and people; to do well in political and ideological work, to build a clean, strong force, absolutely loyal to the Party, State, and people, and to have close relations with the people.

At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, General Tran Dai Quang - Minister of Public Security reviewed the tradition, highlighted the contributions of the People's Public Security force in 69 years of accompanying the country; affirmed the achievements, outstanding feats and the maturity and growth of the People's Public Security force that generations of police officers and soldiers have contributed to and promoted through revolutionary periods.

"The tradition of solidarity, unity, steadfastness in the face of all difficulties and challenges, readiness to heroically sacrifice, contribute, and love comrades and teammates of generations of fathers and brothers has always been a source of pride and a shining example for generations of police officers and soldiers to learn and follow," General Tran Dai Quang stated.

Referring to the political tasks of the People's Public Security force in the coming time, General Tran Dai Quang emphasized that the country is entering a new period of development in the context of complicated developments in the world and regional situations, especially the East Sea situation.

Hostile and reactionary forces have never given up their plots and activities to sabotage the Vietnamese revolution; they have vigorously carried out "peaceful evolution", thoroughly taking advantage of the trends of globalization, "democratization", and international integration to influence and transform internally, support and incite sabotage to cause political and social instability.

Negative factors from the downside of the market economy and international integration have an increasing impact on internal political security, ideological security, cultural security, economic security, information security, and social security; crimes and social evils are still complicated, with the emergence of many new types of crimes and non-traditional security threats.

General Tran Dai Quang stated that in that context, the task of protecting security and order is very heavy, requiring the People's Public Security force to continue to innovate professional thinking and working measures, grasp the situation, proactively advise the Party and State on policies and solutions to ensure security and order; promptly detect and fight to defeat all plots and sabotage activities of hostile and reactionary forces; repel risks, eliminate factors causing political and social instability; not to be passive and surprised; not to form opposition political organizations in the country. Ensure internal political security, cultural and ideological security, information security, economic security, social security; maintain security in strategic and key areas; promptly and effectively resolve complex issues that arise; absolutely protect the safety of the country's important targets and events.

General Tran Dai Quang respectfully presented the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces - a noble award of the Party and State to the collective of officers and soldiers of B14 Detention Camp, Department of Security Investigation, General Department of Security 2, Ministry of Public Security; Major General Dao Trong Hung, Director of Department A69, General Department of Security 1; Major General Nguyen Quang Phong, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Security and relatives of the police officers: Pham Van Bong, Phan Van Xoàn.

On this occasion, the Central Party Committee of the Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security launched a special emulation movement "Promoting the 70-year tradition - People's Public Security forgets themselves for the country, serves the people" from August 19, 2014 to August 19, 2015./.
