Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh successfully concludes official visit to the French Republic
On the evening of November 5 local time, or early morning of November 6 Vietnam time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh left Paris, successfully concluding the entire program of his official visit to the French Republic at the invitation of French Prime Minister Jean Castex.
During his official visit to the French Republic, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with French President Emmanuel Macron; paid courtesy calls to President of the Senate Gerald Larcher and President of the National Assembly Richard Ferrand; and received National Secretary of the French Communist Party Fabien Roussel. In particular, the Prime Minister held talks with French Prime Minister Jean Castex. During the meetings, all issues discussed by the two sides reached high consensus; both sides affirmed their determination to deepen the strategic partnership signed in 2013.

Accordingly, Vietnam and France affirmed their solidarity in the Covid-19 pandemic and the importance of promoting fair and equal access to Covid-19 vaccines and medicines; The two countries reaffirmed their desire to strengthen cooperation in the face of common challenges such as climate change...
The two sides expressed their determination to further deepen cooperation in the cultural field, especially in teaching French; cooperation in the field of law and justice; emphasizing science and technology as well as higher education as one of the priority areas in bilateral cooperation.
The Prime Minister and French leaders agreed to continue promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries; continue to strengthen cooperation between Vietnamese and French localities; France committed to standing side by side with Vietnam in the process of sustainable development, especially within the framework of major infrastructure projects. The two sides reaffirmed their desire to continue cooperation in the field of satellites as well as to use satellite images in many fields such as agriculture, hydrometeorology, climate change response and disaster risk prevention.

Vietnam welcomes French investments in logistics and port infrastructure, which facilitate trade between the two countries and commits to maintaining cooperation in this area to avoid disruptions in supply chains; cooperation in sustainable urban areas, especially in Hanoi with transport and urban planning projects, and the implementation of future wholesale markets.
Regarding regional and international issues, Vietnam and France will work towards strengthening the implementation of the EU-Vietnam and EU-ASEAN partnerships, within the framework of the EU's Indo-Pacific strategy and the French presidency of the EU in the first half of 2022. Vietnam and France reaffirm their full respect for the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as well as the peaceful settlement of disputes, excluding any use or threat of force. The two sides affirmed the importance of maintaining safety, freedom of navigation and overflight in all seas and oceans, especially in the East Sea, on the basis of compliance with the principles of international law.
During the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received many leading businesses from France and Europe; attended the France-Vietnam Business Forum; and together with French leaders witnessed the signing and exchange of nearly 40 cooperation and economic agreements in many fields, including many agreements and projects of great significance and value such as: Cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Justice of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Council of State of the French Republic for the period 2021-2026; Administrative agreement between the Ministry of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation of the French Republic on the recognition of degrees and training processes; Memorandum of Understanding between Vietjet Air and Safran on comprehensive strategic cooperation, based on cooperation turnover worth 10 billion USD; Bamboo Airways and Safran Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding worth 2 billion Euros...
One of the priorities of the visit that the Prime Minister mentioned many times in all the discussions was the relationship between the two countries in the field of health, especially in disease prevention and development of preventive medicine. During his working trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid special attention to the Vietnamese community in France and European countries. Therefore, the Prime Minister had the following activities: receiving the leadership of the France - Vietnam Friendship Association; meeting with Vietnamese Ambassadors in several European countries; meeting with officials and staff of the Embassy, and members of the Vietnamese community in France and Europe.
At the meetings, the Prime Minister stated that the Party and State always consider overseas Vietnamese an important and inseparable part, a driving force for the country's development, which is demonstrated through Resolution No. 36, Directive No. 45 and recently Conclusion No. 12 of the Politburo on work with overseas Vietnamese, institutionalized by legal regulations.
The Prime Minister affirmed that what the Party and State most desire is for overseas Vietnamese to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and unity, "love the gourd and the squash", while at the same time remaining attached to the host country, contributing to implementing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization of foreign relations; proactively and actively integrating comprehensively and deeply into the international community; being a friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community./.
