Prime Minister approves Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung as Chairman of Hanoi City
Major General Nguyen Duc Chung was born on August 3, 1967, in Thang Long commune, Kinh Mon district, Hai Duong province.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has just signed Decision 2225/QD-TTg approving the election of Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Major General, Director of the Hanoi City Police Department, to the position of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2011-2016 term.
Previously, at the 14th session of the Hanoi People's Council, term XIV, 2011-2016, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Major General, Director of Hanoi City Police was elected and elected as Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung was born on August 3, 1967, in Thang Long commune, Kinh Mon district, Hai Duong province. Mr. Chung was elected by the Executive Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, term XVI, 2015-2020, to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee since early November.
Mr. Chung is currently a member of the 13th National Assembly and a member of the National Assembly's Judicial Committee. Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung has a PhD in Law, a bachelor's degree from the People's Police Academy, majoring in criminal investigation, a bachelor's degree from the Hanoi University of Commerce, majoring in business administration, and is a senior investigator.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung was appointed Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police in September 2010, appointed Director of Hanoi City Police in September 2012 and was promoted to Major General by the Prime Minister in July 2013.
He was also awarded the title Hero of the Armed Forces at the age of 37 (in 2004) and the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal (in 2007).
** Also in Decision 2224/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister also approved the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen The Thao, member of the Party Central Committee, from the position of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2011-2016 term./.
