The Prime Minister approved the 2017 civil servant payroll of 269,084 people.

The Prime Minister has just approved the payroll of civil servants receiving salaries from the state budget of state administrative agencies and the payroll of special associations operating nationwide in 2017.

The total number of civil servants receiving salaries from the state budget in 2017 of state administrative agencies, organizations and representative agencies of Vietnam abroad (not including the payroll of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, civil servant payroll in public service units and commune-level officials and civil servants) is 269,084 civil servant payrolls.

Specifically, the number of civil servants in state administrative agencies and organizations is 268,084; of which, administrative agencies and organizations under ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, organizations established by the Government and the Prime Minister that are not public service units have 109,146 positions; administrative agencies and organizations under the People's Councils and People's Committees at provincial and district levels have 157,853 positions; and representative agencies of Vietnam abroad have 1,085 positions.

The reserve civil servant payroll is 1,000.

The decision also approved the total number of staff of special associations operating nationwide to be 686. Thus, compared to 2016, in 2017, 3,832 staff of ministries, branches and localities were reduced; the reserve staff, special associations and Vietnamese diplomatic representative agencies abroad remained unchanged.

The Prime Minister directs the Minister of Home Affairs to be responsible for assigning civil servant payrolls to each Ministry, ministerial-level agency, agency under the Government, organization established by the Government or the Prime Minister that is not a public service unit, and provinces and centrally run cities within the civil servant payrolls prescribed above; assigning payrolls to each Association with special characteristics operating nationwide; submitting to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on the use of reserve civil servant payrolls.

The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to transfer and arrange within the total assigned staff when establishing new organizations or being assigned new tasks./.
