Prime Minister approves the task of planning fishing ports and boat anchorage areas for the 2021-2030 period
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 20, 2020, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 665/QD-TTg approving the task of developing a plan for the system of fishing ports and storm shelters for fishing vessels for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Accordingly, the goal of planning a system of fishing ports and storm shelters for fishing vessels is the basis for completing and modernizing the infrastructure of the fisheries sector, building large fishing centers; strengthening fisheries management; ensuring safety for fishing vessels and fishermen; meeting the needs of logistics services and storm shelters for fishing vessels; ensuring food hygiene and safety; reducing post-harvest losses; contributing to combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; forming domestic and international trade hubs.

On that basis, assess the factors, natural conditions, resources, context and current status of distribution and use of space affecting the fishing port system and storm shelters for fishing vessels; the current status of the fishing port system and storm shelters for fishing vessels; assess the results of the implementation of the planning of the fishing port system and storm shelters for fishing vessels in the previous period. Forecast the demand for infrastructure development serving fisheries exploitation to meet the requirements of effective management, sustainable development, in line with the trend of international integration; combine the tasks of national security and defense, and protect the sovereignty of sea and islands. Study development options, propose mechanisms, policies, investment projects and programs to develop the fishing port system and storm shelters for fishing vessels. Develop a map system "Planning the fishing port system and storm shelters for fishing vessels in the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050".
The Prime Minister's Decision also mentions in detail the requirements for the content and method of planning. Based on the investigation, assessment and analysis of objective factors such as natural factors, the current status of the fishing port system, socio-economic development trends, etc., to implement the planning of fishing ports and storm shelters for ships to meet the requirements.
The planning period shall not exceed 24 months from the date the task of planning the fishing port system is approved by the Prime Minister.
