Singapore Prime Minister and his wife pay official visit to Vietnam
On March 21, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong and his wife began an official visit to Vietnam from March 21-24 at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Within the framework of this visit, the two sides will exchange strategic directions and specific measures to deepen the Strategic Partnership in the coming time, keeping up with the current rapid changes of the fourth industrial revolution, and supporting each other for sustainable and prosperous development.

The Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership continues to grow. The two sides regularly exchange delegations and hold high-level and all-level contacts.
Cooperation between the Party, Government, State and National Assembly channels has been expanded. President Tran Dai Quang visited Singapore in August 2016; Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean and Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian visited Vietnam in September and October 2016, respectively.
Singapore is Vietnam's third largest trading partner in ASEAN and sixth in the world with two-way trade turnover in 2016 reaching 7.1 billion USD.
Singapore is the third largest foreign investor in Vietnam with a total capital of up to 37.8 billion USD. Currently, 7 VSIP industrial parks in Vietnam continue to operate effectively.
Besides, cooperation between the two countries in areas such as: defense, security, education, training, tourism, finance, justice... also developed strongly.
Within the framework of this visit, the two sides will discuss strategic directions and specific measures to deepen the Strategic Partnership in the coming time, keep up with the rapid changes of the fourth industrial revolution, support each other for sustainable development and prosperity, and promote cooperation between the two countries at multilateral forums, including ASEAN, APEC, ASEM and the United Nations.
