Prime Minister Theresa May faces vote of no confidence

MP Graham Brady, Chairman of the 1922 Committee of the British Conservative Party, said that 15% of MPs in the party have requested a vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Theresa May. The vote will be held from 6pm to 8pm on 12 December and the result will be announced shortly afterwards. Mrs May could have to resign if 158 of the 315 MPs vote against her.

In response to the news, Prime Minister May said she would face the vote of no confidence "with everything she has". According to her, electing a new leader at this time would "put the future of the country at risk" and Prime Minister May emphasized that her highest goal now is to complete Brexit and the new leader will not have enough time to restart negotiations. If she is replaced, the Brexit process will also be stalled.
