The Chinese Prime Minister is about to visit Europe and attend ASEM.
According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will visit several European countries from October 9 to 16, including Germany and Russia, and will also attend the Asia-Europe Summit (ASEM) in Milan, Italy. In Russia, Li Keqiang will sign agreements on energy and high-speed rail.

Li Keqiang's second visit to Europe comes as the European Union (EU) is intensifying sanctions against Russia over its involvement in the crisis in Ukraine.

In response to these sanctions, Russian President Vladimir Putin has turned to China, and in May, the two countries signed a $400 billion gas supply agreement. Moscow says that bilateral trade between the two countries will double by 2020.
Recently, the Chinese ambassador to Berlin (Germany) stated that China is ready to seize any business opportunity in Russia amid deteriorating Russia-Europe relations.
According to Xinhua News Agency, in Russia, Li Keqiang will sign more than 30 agreements on financial cooperation, energy, and high-speed rail. Meanwhile, in Germany, he will hold talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel and will also sign a series of agreements.
