At around 5:00 p.m. this afternoon (October 7) Japan time, or around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon Vietnam time, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to Haneda International Airport, Tokyo, Japan to attend the 10th Mekong-Japan Summit and visit Japan.

Welcoming the Prime Minister, his wife and the delegation at the airport, on the Japanese side were: Deputy Minister of National Assembly Norikazu Suzuki, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda; on the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong and his wife, staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Japan.

As scheduled, tomorrow, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will host a solemn welcoming ceremony for Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The two Prime Ministers will then lead high-ranking delegations from both countries to hold talks and witness the signing of cooperation documents. The Prime Minister will also receive Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Nikai Toshihiro and visit the Vietnamese Embassy in Tokyo.

On October 9, the Prime Minister will attend the 10th Mekong-Japan Summit; meet with the Japanese Emperor together with other leaders; and attend the Mekong-Japan Investment Forum. Then, on October 10, the Prime Minister will pay a courtesy call to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the House of Councilors of Japan.

During the trip, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is expected to have many meetings and work with leading Japanese business associations and investors, such as working with the Japan Economic Federation Keidanren; holding talks with Japanese real estate businesses; attending the Vietnam Investment Promotion Forum; and receiving leaders of several leading Japanese corporations.../.
