Losing to Uzbekistan, U17 Vietnam stopped at the final round of the U17 Asian tournament.

After a heavy 0-4 loss to Japan, U17 Vietnam entered the final match in Group D against U17 Uzbekistan with high determination. Although they had to win to be able to continue, U17 Vietnam started the match relatively slowly. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan's team let Uzbekistan completely dominate the game from the first minutes of the match and continuously created dangerous attacks.

U17 Uzbekistan controlled the ball better and created many dangerous situations. Luckily for U17 Vietnam, the excellent performance of goalkeeper Bao Ngoc helped coach Hoang Anh Tuan's team not concede a goal.

However, the U17 Uzbekistan players continuously penetrated the two sidelines and created dangerous crosses.

U17 Vietnam also only stood firm until the 25th minute of the match. After a cross from his teammate, Shodiboev easily tapped the ball right in the penalty area to go past goalkeeper Bao Ngoc. The U17 Vietnam defense stood still and watched their opponents coordinate to score.

In the second half, U17 Vietnam played with more effort when being pushed into a corner. Huynh Trieu was the best player with many good dribbling and finishing moves, and delicious passes to teammates.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan's students had many chances to approach the U17 Uzbekistan goal. However, the U17 Vietnam strikers could not seize the opportunity even though there was a large space in front of them.

Long Vu, Van Nam and especially Huynh Trieu had shots towards the U17 Uzbekistan goal but either missed or could not beat goalkeeper Sobirov.

Losing 0-1, U17 Vietnam officially said goodbye to the 2023 AFC U17 Championship finals right from the group stage. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team's performance was quite disappointing when they only got 1 point after a draw with India, lost to both Japan and Uzbekistan and only scored 1 goal.
