According to initial information, in the early morning of October 18, the children of Pham Van Luan (born in 1985, from Quang Ngai) and Vu Thi Thuy (born in 1984, from Thanh Hoa) woke up and were shocked to discover their parents lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the motel.

Hearing the screams, neighbors rushed to the rescue and took the two to Da Nang Hospital for emergency treatment. Currently, both victims are out of danger and are being closely monitored by Thanh Khe District police and medical staff.

Some neighbors near the victim's boarding house said that Mr. Luan and Ms. Thuy worked as noodle sellers and rented a house in Tam Thuan ward since July 2015. Before the incident, on the evening of October 17, Mr. Luan and his wife had a conflict and argued loudly. Previously, on October 9, at a motel in group 36, Phuoc My ward (Son Tra district), Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quang (born in 1977), while drunk, used a knife to slit his wife's throat while arguing with Ms. Nguyen Thi Luyen (born in 1967, Quang's wife). Fortunately, his wife was saved.
