On the afternoon of January 19, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a conference to review ethnic work and ethnic policies in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024.
Attending the conference were comrades: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vi Van Son - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of mountainous districts.

In 2023, the lives of ethnic minorities are generally stable and increasingly improved. Industrial, agricultural, forestry and fishery production in ethnic minority and mountainous areas has recovered and developed quite comprehensively in terms of productivity, quality and output.
Some ethnic minority localities achieved high growth rates, contributing to the growth rate of the whole province in 2023. Ethnic policies continued to receive attention and implementation, including the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development for Ethnic Minority Areas.

Cultural work, activities to preserve and promote traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities continue to receive investment and development support from all levels and sectors. Ethnic minority festivals are organized solemnly and joyfully, in accordance with customs and practices, meeting the people's need to enjoy spiritual culture.
Vocational education, training, and career guidance for ethnic minority youth and preferential loan policies for household economic development have been actively implemented. The network of health stations continues to be invested in and built; the team of doctors and nurses has been gradually strengthened, with the rate of health stations with doctors reaching 100%.

Deploying the 2024 work program, the conference agreed to effectively implement the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period. Effectively implement new policies related to ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Successfully organized the 4th Provincial and District Ethnic Minority Congresses, achieving the set progress and goals. At the same time, he noted that in the coming time, it is necessary to well implement the following contents: Seriously recognize the limitations and shortcomings to have measures to overcome them, propose breakthrough solutions to create positive changes.
