Hired attacker to assault husband's accuser, former ward chairman's wife arrested

On June 28, Thai Binh City Police announced that they had just initiated a case and prosecuted the wife of former Chairman of the People's Committee of Le Hong Phong Ward in connection with the case in which a judicial officer of this ward was assaulted for denouncing her husband.

Regarding the incident, Secretary of the Party Committee of Le Hong Phong Ward Vu Xuan Lieu confirmed the incident. Accordingly, Ms. Hoang Thi Anh Nguyet (born in 1982), residing at house number 272, Ky Ba urban area, Ky Ba Ward, Thai Binh City, is the wife of Mr. Dang Xuan Hau - former Chairman of the People's Committee of Le Hong Phong Ward, who was prosecuted and accused by Thai Binh City Police.

Ms. Nguyet was the one who organized and asked 4 other people to stage a scene to assault Mr. Vu Van Pho, a judicial officer of Le Hong Phong ward (Thai Binh city) for denouncing her husband.

The subjects prosecuted with Hoang Thi Anh Nguyet include: Tran Nhu Tien (born in 1999); Vu Duy Tung (born in 1989); Nguyen Quang Binh (born in 1983), all residing in Nam Dinh City.

In addition, Thai Binh City police prosecuted and issued a 3-month temporary detention order for Pham Thanh Tung (born in 1987), residing in Nang Tinh Ward, Nam Dinh City, Nam Dinh Province, for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury" as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 134 - Penal Code. The remaining defendants were subject to preventive measures of being prohibited from leaving their place of residence.

Party Secretary of Le Hong Phong Ward said that, for now, the introduction and planning of positions for Mr. Dang Xuan Hau will be stopped because his wife was involved in the assault of Mr. Pho and was prosecuted for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury"."According to Party regulation 102, party members whose wives and children are involved in legal matters will be held responsible, so the planning and introduction of positions for Mr. Hau will be stopped."

Previously, on the afternoon of June 18, Mr. Vu Van Pho (31 years old, a judicial officer of Le Hong Phong ward) was on his way home from school with his two children when he was assaulted by two strange young men on a motorbike. Afterwards, Mr. Pho was taken to the hospital to treat his injuries.

On June 23, he submitted a petition to Thai Binh City police to investigate the incident.

In 2018, Mr. Vu Van Pho filed a complaint against many ward officials for taking advantage of social security policies. After that, the accused received disciplinary action, including the former Chairman of the People's Committee of Le Hong Phong Ward, Mr. Dang Xuan Hau, who received disciplinary action of dismissal.

Most recently, Mr. Pho continued to file a complaint against two disciplined ward officials, former Deputy Secretary of the Ward Party Committee Dang Thi Kim Thoa and Mr. Dang Xuan Hau - former Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, who were still nominated for election to the next term.

After filing a complaint, Mr. Pho was assaulted on the afternoon of June 18./.
