Russian Senator: Defeating IS Will Be Difficult Without US Participation
Defeating the terrorist group 'Islamic State' (IS, banned in Russia) without the participation of the United States will be very difficult, it is necessary to fight together, member of the International Committee of the Russian Federation Council Igor Morozov said.

"I think it will be very difficult, because it is impossible to defeat IS, the so-called 'Islamic State' in one country, Syria. What about Iraq? Who will fight there? And who will attack the infrastructure, combat units, and strongholds of terrorists there?" - Mr. Morozov said at a teleconference organized by Sputnik.
He stressed that terrorism can only be defeated if we work together, but now we are losing time because Washington does not want to engage more closely with Moscow.
"This is a monster that needs to be destroyed at the same time, in the same space. It is located on the territory of two countries, but we can see that time is being lost, because the United States does not want to have close contact with us, because the United States has passed a law prohibiting the Pentagon from interacting with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation," — the senator said.
Morozov expressed concern that IS militants "have moved south and are regrouping in Jordanian territory." "We are missing the opportunity and only together can we completely destroy IS units and prevent them from expanding southward," the Russian senator concluded.
