The highest Tet bonus in Ho Chi Minh City is 3.5 billion VND

Mr. Le Minh Tan - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City said that this year, the Tet bonus of foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) has increased sharply.

Accordingly, the highest New Year bonus of 3.5 billion VND belongs to an FDI enterprise in the finance - banking - insurance sector. The average New Year bonus this year in the city is 10 million VND, a slight increase compared to 2019, and the lowest is 4.4 million VND.

For Lunar New Year 2020, the highest bonus in Ho Chi Minh City is 800 million VND, the average is 11 million VND and the lowest is 4 million VND. The highest and most consistent Tet bonus belongs to real estate, finance, banking and insurance businesses.

This year, in addition to cash bonuses, many businesses also give away train and bus tickets, candy, and lucky money envelopes to retain workers so they will return after Tet.

Last year, the highest New Year bonus given by a business in Ho Chi Minh City was 500 million VND, the average bonus was 9.4 million VND. The highest Lunar New Year bonus was 1.1 billion VND, given by a bank headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City; the average bonus was 10.032 million VND per person.

This survey is based on 1,100 businesses reporting in Ho Chi Minh City. This year, the number of businesses reporting Tet bonus plans is slower than in previous years.
