Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial People's Council presents Tet gifts in Thanh Chuong, Hung Nguyen
On the morning of January 20, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council visited and presented Tet gifts to the poor and disadvantaged households in Thanh Chuong and Hung Nguyen districts.
The delegation included comrades: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Lo Thi Kim Ngan - Head of the Ethnic Committee, Provincial People's Council, and representatives of local leaders.
In Thanh Phong commune (Thanh Chuong), the working delegation gave Tet gifts to 40 poor households and households in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 1.3 million VND.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council affirmed: Every time Tet comes, Spring returns, with the sentiment of sharing and also the social responsibility of the Party Committee, government, and people of all walks of life with their compatriots and homeland, Nghe An province organizes a special program to mobilize all levels, sectors, businesses, and philanthropists to join hands to take care of Tet for the poor and people in difficult circumstances.
Responding to the call of the Provincial Party Secretary, this year, Nghe An province has successfully organized the program "Lam River's Love". With its profound and humane meaning, up to now, the program has called on organizations, individuals, business communities, and enterprises to support nearly 150 billion VND to contribute to taking care of Tet for the poor and disadvantaged people to rise up in life.
On the occasion of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year 2025, comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh wished the people of Thanh Phong commune and all the people of Thanh Chuong district a warm, joyful, happy traditional New Year, striving to have more joy, prosperity, and innovation in the coming year than in the past years.
Thanh Phong commune has a population of 2,115 households, with nearly 9,000 people, the people here mainly produce agriculture. Currently, the rate of poor households and near-poor households in the whole commune is 1.05% and 2.15% respectively, relatively low compared to the general level of the whole district. However, according to the leaders of Thanh Phong commune, the rate of people receiving social benefits, people with disabilities, and households in difficult circumstances in the area is relatively high, the rate of elderly people living alone is high, so it is in great need of help and cooperation from the whole society.
Also on the morning of January 20, the working delegation presented 30 gifts to Hung Linh commune (Hung Nguyen). At the ceremony, the leaders of Hung Linh commune thanked the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council for their sharing and joining hands to take care of the Tet holiday for the poor and people in difficult circumstances, and expressed their hope that the poor and people in difficult circumstances in the area will continue to strive to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, step by step rise up, and welcome a warm and happy traditional Tet.
Over the past time, our Party and State have always paid attention to the poor and families in difficult circumstances. Many meaningful programs have been implemented before Tet, aiming to share with those in difficult circumstances, ensuring that everyone, every family has Tet, no one is left behind.
