CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN AND STABILIZE THE SITUATION

During the month, political security and social order and safety in the province continued to be ensured. The armed forces maintained strict combat readiness, ensuring safety for activities during major holidays and political events in the province.

Forecasting and situation monitoring work continues to be carried out well, promptly providing information to serve leadership and direction; proactively grasping and advising on handling the situation to stabilize it, preventing complicated incidents from occurring.

The functional sectors have focused on directing drastic prevention work, launching campaigns to fight, sweep, and suppress all types of crimes and social evils, and a number of cases related to drugs and gambling with large sums of money.

During the month, internal affairs agencies discovered and handled many cases related to crimes and violations of economic and environmental management order, mainly focusing on violations related to fireworks and trading in smuggled goods...

Among them, there are some major cases such as arresting and prosecuting 8 subjects gambling with a total amount of more than 2 billion VND; Nghia Dan District Police broke up a case, arrested 2 subjects using high technology to defraud and appropriate property, initially clarified 3 fraud cases with a total amount of 2 billion VND. The authorities discovered 77 cases, arrested 109 subjects for drug crimes...

Investigation, prosecution and trial of cases are ensured in accordance with legal regulations, preventing wrongful convictions and letting criminals escape. Some cases and cases under the supervision and direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee are focused on by the sectors.

Attention has been paid to the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity; a number of tasks of the Provincial Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity have been proactively implemented.

During the month, the authorities discovered 3 cases and 6 subjects, including: Prosecuting the case and prosecuting 2 defendants, including 1 former land official of Quynh Bang commune, Quynh Luu district, for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties", causing damage to the State of more than 1 billion VND; prosecuting the case and prosecuting Ha Tham Canh, born in 1979, Principal of Ta Ca Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Ky Son, to investigate the crimes of "Embezzlement of property" and "Abusing position and power while performing official duties"; prosecuting the case and prosecuting 3 defendants for the crimes of "giving bribes" and "receiving bribes" occurring at Nghe An Registration Center, facility 37-09D.

The work of receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations is carried out promptly and in accordance with legal regulations by all levels and sectors. Inspection and examination work is strengthened, detecting and proposing timely handling of violations. Post-inspection handling work is carried out effectively.

The work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, trade in counterfeit goods, banned goods, poor quality goods, and food safety and hygiene has been promoted; the work of enforcing judgments has had many positive changes...

STRENGTHENING DETECTION AND HANDLING OF CORRUPTION AND NEGATIVITY

In March, the Provincial Party Standing Committee requested the armed forces to maintain combat readiness; coordinate with local authorities to organize patrols and control to protect border and island sovereignty, ensure national security and social order and safety in the area.

The forces continue to strengthen the work of grasping the situation, ensuring security in all fields and areas; ensuring absolute safety for important events of the province; high-ranking delegations of the Party, State, and international guests visiting and working.

Continue to handle and resolve complex, prominent issues of public concern; step up the fight against and suppression of all types of crimes, especially crimes that violate social order, gambling crimes, high-tech crimes, etc.; strengthen market management, food safety and hygiene inspections, promptly coordinate in handling acts of trading and transporting prohibited and counterfeit goods, etc.

Coordinate and effectively implement the work of detecting, transferring, receiving, classifying, and handling denunciations and reports of crimes; recommending prosecution, arrest, investigation, and handling of crimes... Strengthen the work of detecting and handling corruption and negativity through inspection, supervision, investigation, and handling of denunciations and handling of sources of information about crimes.

Perform well the work of receiving citizens, having direct dialogue with citizens and handling citizens' reflections and recommendations; focus on resolving cases and lawsuits monitored and directed by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee at monthly meetings of the bloc and promptly report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on cases according to regulations.

Focus on coordinating and advising on maintaining the effectiveness of the Provincial Steering Committee's activities on preventing and combating corruption and negativity; directing the effective handling and resolution of cases and cases under the monitoring and direction of the Steering Committee.

All levels and sectors have actively paid attention to implementing the Program to mobilize support for building houses for the poor and people in difficult circumstances in the period of 2023-2025, achieving many positive results.
