(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 27, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee held a meeting with agencies in the Internal Affairs sector for May 2024. Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation chaired.
Attending the conference were comrade Ho Le Ngoc - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee and leaders of agencies in the Internal Affairs sector.
ADVISE TO HANDLE THE SITUATION WELL IN THE AREA
In May 2024, the political security situation and social order and safety in the area were basically stable. The armed forces strictly maintained combat readiness, coordinated to grasp the situation, and ensured security and order. Proactively detected and advised on the proper handling of arising incidents, preventing security and order complications.
The authorities have launched and synchronously deployed measures to prevent, combat, track down, and strictly handle all types of crimes and social evils such as: Crimes violating economic and environmental management order, crimes violating social order, drug crimes, high-tech crimes, etc.
Accordingly, during the month, 87 cases and 105 subjects were discovered transporting, storing, buying, selling, and organizing illegal use of drugs, seizing more than 399 grams of heroin, 41.9 grams and 23,262 synthetic drug pills; more than 113 grams of crystal meth, and 37,000 grams of marijuana.
The authorities have discovered 5 cases and arrested 55 high-tech criminals (3 cases, 51 gambling subjects; 2 cases, 4 fraud subjects appropriating property online).
Regarding corruption and position crimes, the province has discovered and handled 3 cases and 3 subjects (1 case and 1 subject "Abusing position and power while performing official duties; 2 cases and 2 subjects "Embezzlement of property").
Investigation, prosecution and trial of cases continue to be focused on by the enforcement agencies. Sectors in the Internal Affairs sector have actively implemented the sector's 2024 work program.
Party committees and authorities at all levels pay attention to the work of receiving citizens, handling petitions, complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections from citizens according to regulations, especially complaints from households related to compensation and site clearance for National Highway 1A.
The work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, trade in counterfeit, banned and poor quality goods, and food hygiene and safety has been stepped up; the enforcement of civil judgments has seen many positive changes; measures for fire prevention, fire fighting, search and rescue have been promptly deployed.
PROMPTLY HANDLING AND RESOLVING COMPLEX, OUTSTANDING ISSUES THAT AFFECT PUBLIC OPINION
Regarding tasks in June, the Provincial Party Standing Committee requested the armed forces to maintain combat readiness; coordinate with local authorities to organize patrols and control to protect border and island sovereignty, ensure national security and social order and safety in the area.
Strengthening the work of grasping the situation, ensuring security in all fields and areas; ensuring absolute safety for important events of the province, high-ranking delegations of the Party and State, and international guests visiting and working in Nghe An.
At the same time, continue to promptly handle and resolve complex, outstanding issues that are of public concern. Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to perform well in receiving citizens, having direct dialogues and handling citizens' reflections and recommendations. Focus on handling and effectively resolving complex issues right at the grassroots level, avoiding being passive and surprised.
Strengthen the fight against and suppress all types of crimes and law violations, especially crimes against social order, economic and environmental crimes, drug crimes, high-tech crimes, online fraud, etc.; strengthen market management; forest protection, fire prevention, firefighting, rescue and relief; promptly coordinate to strictly handle acts of transporting and trading in counterfeit and poor-quality goods, violating food hygiene and safety, etc.
Coordinate and perform well the work of detecting, transferring, receiving, classifying, and handling crime reports and denunciations, recommending prosecution, arrest, and investigation and handling of crimes... Strengthen the work of detecting and handling corruption and negativity through inspection, supervision, investigation, and handling of denunciations; strengthen the recovery of lost and misappropriated assets in corruption, economic, and negativity cases.
Agencies in the Internal Affairs sector need to focus on resolving and removing difficulties and obstacles in cases and lawsuits under the supervision and direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity.
