Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong was elected Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association.
On the morning of December 31, in Hanoi, the 7th National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term 2022-2027, held its closing session.

The Congress announced the results of the first meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term VII. Accordingly, 22 comrades were elected to the Standing Committee of the Central Executive Committee, term VII. Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong was elected as President of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term VII. The Vice Presidents of the Association, term VII include: Pham Hong Huong, Khuat Viet Dung, Nguyen Minh Hoang, and Le Van Kiem.
At the first meeting, 13 comrades were elected to the Central Inspection Committee of the 7th term. Comrade Luong Hong Phong was appointed as Head of the Central Inspection Committee of the 7th term.
The Congress voted to pass the Resolution of the Congress, which identified the general goals for the next 5 years as: Continuing to promote the nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers"; the tradition of "Loyalty - Solidarity - Exemplary - Innovation"; building a comprehensively strong Veterans Association; excellently completing tasks. Actively participating in building and protecting the Party, the State, the people and the socialist regime; protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views; helping each other to do business, improving life. Strengthening the role of members in educating patriotism and revolutionary traditions for the younger generation, contributing to building and consolidating the political base, building a clean and strong Party and political system.
The 7th National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association calls on all cadres and members to continue to promote the nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers"; the tradition of "Loyalty - Solidarity - Exemplary - Innovation; uphold the spirit of initiative and creativity, promote the patriotic emulation movement, and strive to successfully complete the goals and tasks set forth in the Congress Resolution, making an important contribution to the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

In his closing speech, Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong emphasized that after more than two days of dedicated and responsible work, the 7th National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term 2022 - 2027, completed all the contents and programs set out and was a great success.
The success of the Congress is a great source of encouragement and motivation for all cadres, members, veterans and ex-soldiers nationwide. The Congress documents are important orientations for the activities and development of the Association in the next 5 years.
Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong suggested that, immediately after the Congress, the Association at all levels should organize the dissemination of the Resolution and documents of the Congress; widely disseminate the results of the Congress to cadres and members; promptly develop and implement programs and action plans, put the Resolution into practice in the Association's activities; and encourage veterans and former soldiers to respond to the Congress's call.
In addition, the Association at all levels needs to promote the emulation movement of exemplary veterans associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; successfully carry out the tasks and targets set by the Congress, contributing to building and firmly defending the Fatherland, worthy of the trust of the Party, the State and the love of the people.
