Former national security adviser Michael Flynn in the administration of US President Donald Trump may have lost his job for "colluding" to pave the way for a trillion-dollar deal involving Russian businesses, Dailymail quoted a well-informed source as saying.

As the world watched every moment of US President Donald Trump's inauguration in January, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, standing just a few feet away from the stage, was focused on a text message that would cost him his entire political career.

DailymailCiting a well-informed source last week, Mr. Flynn was so engrossed in sending a message with extremely simple content: "All set to go."

The text message, sent to a British businessman named Alex Copson, who denies it, is believed to signal the end of US sanctions on Russia, paving the way for a trillion-dollar deal to build nuclear reactors across the Middle East.

The existence of the message remains a matter of debate, but what is certain is that Copson hired Mr. Flynn as an advisor on an ambitious project to build 45 nuclear reactors with Russian companies, a project that was hampered by sanctions imposed on Russia by the administration of former US President Barack Obama.

Taking advantage of Mr. Flynn's sure appointment to a high-ranking position in the administration soon after President Trump took office, Copson assured his partners that the sanctions would be lifted in "the next few days."

However, the plan did not go as planned. Less than a month after taking office, Mr. Flynn was forced to resign after investigators uncovered his relationship with Russian officials.

The above information was released in the context of special prosecutor Robert Mueller continuing to take tough actions in the investigation of suspected Russian interference in the 2016 US election as well as suspicions that President Trump's campaign team "colluded" with Russia. President Trump has repeatedly denied this accusation.
