Faced with heavy rains caused by storm No. 10, which caused deep flooding in the downstream area, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant has proactively reduced the discharge flow by nearly 84% to limit flooding and ensure safety for the downstream area.

According to the report of Ban Ve Hydropower Company at 1:30 p.m. on September 29, 2025, the total water flow into the lake is at 2,100 m³/s. However, to support the downstream area that is deeply flooded due to prolonged heavy rain, the plant only discharged a total of 338 m³/s, corresponding to a reduction rate of nearly 84% of the flood. Of which, the flow through the generator is 165 m³/s, the remaining 173 m³/s is discharged through the spillway.

Storm No. 10 caused heavy rain over a large area, with rainfall measured at the factory area from 0:00 to 13:00 on the same day reaching 138.6mm. The current water level of the reservoir is 193.85m, still lower than the normal water level (200m), showing that the reservoir still has the ability to continue to cut floods if the weather continues to develop complicatedly in the coming days.

The proactive reduction of flood discharge at high levels clearly demonstrates the active regulatory role of Ban Ve Hydropower Company in natural disaster prevention and control, contributing to minimizing risks for downstream areas. Currently, the company is continuing to closely coordinate with local authorities and functional agencies to monitor flood developments, ensuring safe, effective and appropriate reservoir operations in accordance with the actual situation.
